One of my most cherished memories of my childhood is the amazing cakes that my mom would make for my brothers and me. I remember waking up one morning and walking in the kitchen. I saw a Barbie in a dress cake before being ushered away so that I would be surprised later. From then on the days leading up to one of our birthday parties, I remember watching and tasting the cake batter, icing, fondant and candies as she decorated the cakes.
